My Story

Jonieer is a joyful and creative young girl living with her parents and brother in the historic city of Alexandria, Egypt. Her home sits near the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea — a city known around the world for its incredible history and beauty.

Jonieer enjoys going to school, especially Arabic class — it’s her favorite subject! English can be a little tough for her, but she keeps working hard. Her favorite color is red, and she absolutely loves cats. When it comes to food, nothing beats Koshari — a famous Egyptian dish made with rice, pasta, and lentils. She also enjoys drawing and running around outside whenever she gets the chance.

At home, Jonieer helps her mom by washing the dishes and keeping her room clean and tidy — small but important ways she shows love to her family. She’s also a big fan of Cinderella — her very favorite storybook character!

Alexandria is a city full of history — once home to famous figures like Alexander the Great and Cleopatra, and known for its ancient lighthouse and library. But life in Egypt can still be difficult, especially for Christian families like Jonieer’s, who are a small minority in a mostly Muslim country.

Even though life has its challenges, Jonieer finds comfort in knowing that God loves her and is always with her, no matter what.
