My Story

I'm Merna, and my mom is a widow, so it's just me, her, and my brother in Egypt, near the Nile River. Our village is pretty nice, with lots of farms around.

School's okay for me. I really like English, but math is tough. Black is my favorite color, and I adore cats. Chicken is my favorite food, and I love playing with my friends and drawing.

I help Mom by cleaning my room and cooking sometimes. It's important to pitch in. My favorite story from the Bible is about Mary, Jesus' mom. It's a special story that makes me feel closer to God.

Being Christian here isn't always easy, but we make the best of it. Family, good food, and laughter with friends make it better. And I know that God loves me and is always with me, no matter what.
