Psalm 5:11
Bishoy is a kind and thoughtful 4th grader living in a small village near the Nile River in Egypt. He lives with his mother and younger brother. After the loss of his father, Bishoy’s mom has been working hard to care for her two boys on her own, though finding work hasn’t been easy. Life in their farming community can be challenging, but they do their best to support one another.
School is one of Bishoy’s favorite places to be — especially math class! He loves solving problems and working with numbers. Arabic can feel a little tricky sometimes, but Bishoy keeps trying and always gives his best effort.
Some of Bishoy’s favorite things include the color blue, lions (he thinks they’re the coolest!), and enjoying a good meal of beef, his favorite food. In his free time, you’ll most often find him playing soccer with his friends — his favorite way to have fun and stay active.
At home, Bishoy helps out by picking up his toys and doing small chores to support his mom. One of his favorite Bible stories is about Daniel — he’s inspired by Daniel’s courage and strong faith in God, even in difficult times.
Life in Egypt is rich with family traditions, good food, and time spent with loved ones. But for Christian families like Bishoy’s, there are also unique challenges. Even so, Bishoy finds peace and strength in knowing that God sees him, loves him, and will always be with him.
Through sponsorship, Bishoy can continue to grow in school, receive needed care, and be encouraged to dream about a bright future ahead.
