Hi, I'm Daniel. My family had to leave our home because of the Islamic State in 2014, and we've been living as refugees in North Iraq ever since. I live with my parents and my sister. I really love going to school, especially my English classes, even though Kurdish language lessons can be a bit tough for me. My favorite color is blue, and I’m a big fan of dogs. When it comes to food, I can’t get enough of chicken. Playing soccer with my friends is one of my favorite things to do. At home, I help out by cleaning and doing the dishes to help my mom.
Life in North Iraq has its challenges. We’ve seen a lot of war, and the effects are still with us. But there are things I love about Iraq, like our strong family bonds, rich traditions, delicious food, and the many celebrations we have. Despite this, we also face problems like an unstable government, limited job opportunities, and sometimes a lack of food and clean water. Being a Christian in a predominantly Muslim country can be tough, but knowing that God loves me and will always take care of me gives me strength and hope.
