My Story

Mohammed is a kind and resilient young boy living in Northern Iraq with his parents and sister. His family is part of the Yazidi community and fled Syria in 2014 to escape the Islamic State. They’ve been living as refugees ever since, working hard to find peace and stability far from their home.

Mohammed was born Deaf and mute, which means he isn't able to attend school at this time. But that doesn’t stop him from being full of energy, joy, and curiosity about the world around him. His favorite color is green, and he loves all animals — he simply can’t choose just one! He enjoys being outside, playing soccer, and spending time with his friends.

At home, Mohammed helps his mom by cleaning his room and doing his part to contribute to their home life. His favorite hero is "Robot" — a character that makes him smile and reminds him of strength and imagination.

Iraq is a country filled with strong traditions, delicious food, and deep family values. But it also has its challenges. Many families struggle with unemployment, political instability, and even a lack of basic needs like food and clean water. For Yazidi and Christian families especially, life can be uncertain and even unsafe at times.

Even with these difficulties, Mohammed finds joy in simple things and comfort in knowing that he is deeply loved by God. Though he faces unique challenges, his spirit is strong, and his heart is full of hope.

Sponsorship can bring encouragement and practical help to Mohammed’s life — showing him that he is seen, valued, and not alone on his journey.
