My Story

Anderyan is a kind and determined young boy living in Iraq with his parents, brother, and sister. His family fled their hometown in 2014 to escape the Islamic State and spent many years living as refugees in Northern Iraq. Now, they are working to resettle in their original hometown, trying to rebuild a sense of stability and home.

Anderyan enjoys going to school and learning new things. Arabic is his favorite subject, where he feels most confident. Math is a little more difficult for him, but he keeps trying and puts in his best effort. His favorite color is yellow, and he loves lions for their strength and courage. In his free time, he enjoys riding his bike and spending time outdoors. His favorite heroes are Adnan and Lina, characters from a beloved Arabic cartoon.

At home, Anderyan helps his mom by cleaning his room and picking up his toys. He’s thoughtful and responsible, always ready to lend a hand and support his family.

Iraq is a country rich in tradition, family ties, and joyful celebrations. But for families like Anderyan’s, life is still full of challenges. The government is unstable, jobs are hard to come by, and even basic needs like food and clean water can be difficult to access. Christians are a small minority, and practicing their faith openly isn’t always safe.

Even so, Anderyan finds strength in knowing that God loves him and will always be with him. His resilience and gentle spirit shine through each day.

Sponsorship can help support Anderyan as he continues his education, rebuilds with his family, and holds onto hope for a brighter future.
