The Lord's Prayer
Sara is a joyful and playful young girl living in Iraq with her parents and brother. In 2014, her family fled their home to escape the violence of the Islamic State. After spending many years as refugees in Northern Iraq, they are now trying to resettle in their original hometown and rebuild their lives.
Sara enjoys going to school and learning new things. Arabic is her favorite subject — she loves practicing her reading and writing! Math can be a bit difficult for her, but she’s doing her best. Her favorite color is pink, and she absolutely loves monkeys — they make her laugh. Sara’s favorite hero is Cinderella, whose kindness and courage inspire her.
She loves to play and jump with her friends, enjoying the freedom to be active and have fun. At home, Sara helps her mom by picking up her toys and cleaning her room. She’s cheerful, helpful, and full of energy.
Iraq is a country rich with traditions, delicious food, and strong family values. But it also comes with many challenges. The government is unstable, jobs are scarce, and families often struggle to access food and clean water. Christians are a small minority in Iraq, and for families like Sara’s, it’s not always safe to live openly in their faith.
Even with these challenges, Sara finds comfort in knowing that God loves her and will always be there for her. Her bright smile and hopeful heart are a beautiful part of who she is.
Sponsorship can help Sara continue her education, support her family, and encourage her as she begins a new chapter filled with hope and possibility.
