God is love!
Milad is a cheerful and active little boy living in Northern Iraq with his parents and sister. His family fled Syria in 2014 to escape the violence of the Islamic State — before Milad was born — and they have been living as refugees ever since.
Milad loves playing with his friends and spending time outdoors. His favorite color is blue, and he thinks cats are the best animals! Chicken is his favorite food, and he enjoys kicking a soccer ball around whenever he gets the chance. At home, Milad helps his mom by picking up his toys and keeping his space clean — a big job for a little guy, but one he does with a smile.
Iraq is a country full of strong family traditions, delicious food, and joyful celebrations. But for refugee families like Milad’s, life can also be very hard. Jobs are difficult to find, the government is unstable, and sometimes there isn’t enough food or clean water. Christians are a small minority in Iraq, and it isn’t always safe to live openly as a believer.
Even at a young age, Milad finds comfort in hearing that God loves him and will always take care of him — no matter what.
Sponsorship can help Milad grow up healthy, supported, and full of hope as he continues to learn and play each day.
