My Story

Hi! My name is Sara. I live in Northern Iraq with my mom, dad, sister, and two brothers. In 2014, we had to leave our home because of the Islamic State, and we’ve been living as refugees ever since.

I enjoy going to school. Arabic is my favorite subject, but I have a hard time with English. I really like the color red, and I love cats. My favorite food is French fries, and I have fun playing basketball with my friends. At home, I help my mom by doing the dishes.

Life here isn’t easy. Sometimes we don’t have enough clean water or food, and it’s hard for people to find jobs. There aren’t many Christians in Iraq, so it can feel unsafe at times. Still, I love my family, and I know that God loves us and is always with us.
