My Story

Hi! My name is Matty. I live in Northern Iraq with my mom, dad, two sisters, and my brother. My family had to leave our home because of the Islamic State before I was born, so we’ve been refugees my whole life.

I’m in school and I really like Math, even though Science can be tough for me. My favorite color is white, and I think lions are awesome. I like playing soccer with my friends and reading books. At home, I help my mom by cleaning my room.

Life here can be pretty hard. Sometimes we don’t have enough food or clean water, and it’s difficult for my parents to find jobs. Most people around us are Muslims, and there aren’t many Christians. That can make things unsafe sometimes. But I’m thankful for my family, and I know God sees us and takes care of us.
