My Story

Hi! My name is Jod. I live in Iraq with my parents and my sister. We had to leave our home before I was born because of the Islamic State. Now we are still refugees in Northern Iraq.

I like going to school. My favorite subject is Math, but Kurdish is hard for me. My favorite color is blue! I love dogs, and I really like playing soccer with my friends. I help my mom by cleaning my room.

Sometimes life here is really hard. We don’t always have clean water or enough food, and there aren’t many jobs. Most people in Iraq are Muslims. There are only a few Christians, and it’s not always safe for us. But I love my family, and I know God loves me and watches over us.
