My Story

Hi! My name is Jwana. I live in Iraq with my mom, dad, and my sister. We had to leave our home before I was born because of the Islamic State, and now we are still refugees in Northern Iraq.

I love going to school. My favorite subject is Science, but Kurdish is really hard for me. My favorite color is pink! I love dogs, and I really like pizza. I enjoy swimming and playing with my friends. I help my mom by doing the dishes.

Life here can be hard. Sometimes we don’t have enough food or clean water, and it’s hard for my parents to find work. Most people in Iraq are Muslims. There aren’t many Christians, and it’s not always safe. But I know God loves me and takes care of us.
