Egypt
Widow / Single Mother
6th
Psalm 55
My name is Sandy. I live in Egypt with my widowed mother and my brother. My mother is currently unemployed, and we live in a village near the Nile River where there are many farms. Egypt is a beautiful country, and people here enjoy being with their families, sharing good food, laughing, and spending time with friends.
I enjoy going to school, and Math is my favorite subject, although Arabic can be difficult for me sometimes. My favorite color is yellow, and I really like birds. My favorite food is beef. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music and going to church.
At home, I try to help my mother by doing the dishes. Most people in Egypt are Muslims, and there are very few Christians, so it is not always easy or safe to be a Christian here. I enjoy hearing stories from the Bible, especially the story of Ruth. It reminds me that God loves me and will never leave me.
