My Story

My name is Merna, and I live in Egypt with my widowed mother and my sister. We live in a village near the Nile River where there are many farms. My mother is currently unemployed, but she takes good care of us. Egypt is a wonderful country, and we enjoy being with our families, sharing good food, laughing, and spending time with friends.

I like going to school, and my favorite subject is English. Math can be difficult for me sometimes, but I try my best. My favorite color is pink, and I love cats. My favorite food is breaded chicken. In my free time, I enjoy playing computer games.

At home, I help my mother by cleaning my room and doing the dishes. When I grow up, I would like to become a doctor so I can help people. Most people in Egypt are Muslims, and there are very few Christians, so it is not always easy or safe to be a Christian here. I enjoy hearing stories from the Bible, especially the story of Mary. It reminds me that God loves me and will never leave me.
