My Story

My family and I fled the war in Sudan. We lost our home and now live as refugees in Cairo, Egypt. My dad abandoned us, so it's just me, my mom, and my six brothers and sisters now.

Sudan used to be the largest country in Africa, with more pyramids than Egypt. The Blue Nile and White Nile meet in Khartoum, our capital, to form the Nile River. That was my home, before the war tore my country in two.

I love school, especially English, even though Arabic is still hard for me. Red is my favorite color, lions amaze me, and I never turn down chicken. When I'm not doing homework, I'm playing football or helping my mom around the house. Spider-Man is my hero.

Most people in Egypt are Muslim. Being a Christian here isn't always safe. But through the Child Sponsorship Program, I'm learning that God loves me and will never leave me, and I'm holding on to hope for a better future.
