My Story

War took my home in Sudan away from me. My family and I fled and now live as refugees in Cairo, Egypt, just my mom, my two sisters, and me. My dad abandoned us, so my mom is the one taking care of all of us now.

There's so much I want you to know about where I came from. Sudan used to be part of Egypt, and it actually has more pyramids than Egypt does! In Khartoum, our capital city, the Blue Nile and White Nile rivers come together to form the Nile River. But the war split my country into two, and that's why my family couldn't stay.

I love going to school, and English is my favorite subject, though science is tricky for me. Red is my favorite color, I think pandas are the cutest, and pizza is my favorite food. I love to dance, and I help my mom with cleaning and cooking around the house. Superman is my favorite superhero.

Most people in Egypt are Muslim, and only a few of us are Christian. It isn't always safe to be a Christian here. But through the Child Sponsorship Program, I'm receiving loving care and biblical discipleship, and I'm growing in my faith while I look forward to a brighter future.
