My Story

Anjlena and her family fled the Islamic State in 2014 and are still refugees in North Iraq. She lives with her one brother and her parents. Anjlena’s favorite color is red and she likes birds. She likes basketball, parties and to play games. Fav food? Pizza and Chocolate. In school Anjlena likes  Arabic but Math is hard for her.  She would like to be a teacher when she grows up. Anjlena helps her Mom cook and clean the house. 

I live in North Iraq, where we have seen war for many years, and as a result we are still suffering.  Iraq is special; we love our families, tradition, good food and celebrations.  But we have many problems too like an unstable government and few jobs, and sometimes food and clean water are hard to find. Most people in Iraq are Muslims, very few are Christians and it isn’t always safe to be a Christian here.
