My Story

Adam is a cheerful kindergartener living in Baghdad, Iraq, with his parents and sister. His family fled Syria in 2014 to escape the violence of the Islamic State — before Adam was even born. They’ve been living as refugees ever since, working hard to build a safe and loving home in a difficult environment.

Adam enjoys going to school and especially loves spending time with his friends in Kindergarten. His favorite color is red, and he thinks lions are the coolest animals! When it comes to food, he’s always happy with a plate of chicken. At home, he loves playing with his toys and helps his mom by picking them up and keeping things tidy.

Life in Iraq is full of culture and tradition — family is deeply valued, and celebrations with good food are special parts of daily life. But there are also many challenges. The government is unstable, jobs are limited, and many families face shortages of food and clean water. As Christians, Adam’s family is part of a small minority in Iraq, and sometimes that brings added challenges and safety concerns.

Even in hard times, Adam finds comfort in hearing that God loves him and will always take care of him. His simple faith and joyful spirit are a beautiful part of who he is.
